Job Summary The Manager of People & Culture provides strategic advice and leadership related to various HR functions in support of the organization’s strategic goals. This position involves managing areas such as recruitment, employee relations, engagement initiatives, employee training and more. The HR Manager is a seasoned HR professional with expertise and strong management and problem-solving skills. Their knowledge and experience enable them to lead autonomously, mentor team members, and drive initiatives to make a substantial impact on HR operations while promoting positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Provide expert advice to organizational leaders and supervisors
- Lead and manage the HR team to ensure the provision of comprehensive HR support to the organization.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance skills, capacity, and service excellence.
Strategic Recruitment:
- Develop and implement proactive sourcing strategies, including leveraging social media, networking, and job fairs, to attract top talent.
Onboarding/Offboarding:
- Create, oversee and optimize the onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency and an exceptional employee experience.
- Manage voluntary and involuntary terminations and the off-boarding process with professionalism and sensitivity.
Employee Relations: o Lead efforts to address and resolve workplace issues, conflicts, and concerns in a timely and fair manner.
- Provide expert advice, training, support, and oversight to supervisors as needed.
Compliance:
- Ensure the administration and communication of company policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain consistency and compliance.
- Stay current and advise executive leadership on employment laws and regulations and ensure company HR practices align with legal requirements.
Performance Management:
- Design and oversee the administration of performance appraisals, goal-setting, and employee development programs.
Training and Development:
- Identify organizational training needs, develop and implement training programs in collaboration with program leadership and subject matter experts.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
HR Administration:
- Ensure the privacy, accuracy and consistency of HR records.
- Oversee the preparation of templates, letters, reports, and presentations.
- Provide advice and guidance to organizational leaders and supervisors regarding management of direct reports.
Policy Development:
- Lead the development and maintenance of HR-related policies to ensure alignment with organizational values and legislation.
- Contribute to broader organizational policy development with a focus on HR intersections.
Employee Engagement and Culture Building:
- Lead the design and implementation of engagement initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive company culture, while increasing employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Advocate for employees, representing their needs and concerns while balancing the needs and values of the organization.
- Foster a positive, diverse and inclusive workplace culture, ensuring all employees feel valued and engaged.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Criminal record and vulnerable populations sector check required
- Experience with ADP or similar HRIS systems is an asset
- Experience in health care and non-profit sectors is an asset
