Your 2022 donations in action
In 1979, a committed group of volunteers from the Boyle McCauley neighbourhood sat down with some health professionals and took the first steps toward developing a community-based health facility. Their vision was to have a facility that could meet the neighbourhood’s broad-based health needs. The volunteers believed health is more than just medical treatment so they created a centre committed to addressing a variety of health needs, including homelessness, poverty, isolation, addictions and more.
From that first vision shared by a group of volunteers, Radius has grown into a team of compassionate health care professionals and now employs over sixty people.
In addition, a similar number of volunteers provide service and support to the staff. Whether it’s a dental hygienist, foot care volunteer, chiropractor, optometrist, optician, board member or community resident willing to shop and prepare food for specific programs, volunteers and donations play a vital role in the work that Radius does.
Today, more than 40 years since our inception, Radius delivers accessible, integrated and innovative health care that addresses health and social needs of Edmontonians facing adversity. We pride ourselves on providing care without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, gender or ability to pay, providing barrier-free access to the communities we serve.
As a not-for-profit charitable organization that relies on community, corporate and individual support, every donation to Radius makes a difference in the lives of the thousands of people who access our services and programs. Thank you for helping us help them.
