Radius Community Health and Healing in Edmonton Achieves National Accreditation
Radius Community Health and Healing is proud to share that we have received accreditation from the Canadian Accreditation Council, marking an important milestone for community health services in Edmonton.
Accreditation is a rigorous, independent process that validates an organization’s ethical practices, management structures, and case management systems. Achieving this designation confirms that Radius meets recognized industry standards while continuing to provide sustainable, high-quality community health care in downtown Edmonton.
What Accreditation Validates
Through the accreditation process, Radius demonstrated that our organization adheres to established standards in several key areas, including:
- Ethical practices and accountability
- Management and governance structures
- Case management systems
- Organizational policies and procedures
These elements form the foundation of a strong, sustainable community health organization. Accreditation confirms that the structures, processes, and practices guiding our work meet national expectations for quality and integrity.
A Rigorous and Valuable Process
Accreditation is not a simple checklist. It is a comprehensive and demanding process that requires organizations to reflect deeply on how they operate.
For Radius, the process created meaningful opportunities to review our systems, strengthen internal practices, and ensure that our programs are built on clear, consistent standards. It reinforces the importance of strong structures that support both staff and clients across our Edmonton community health services.
“The accreditation process supported Radius to put a little more structure around the already amazing work happening. We were 100% compliant in all aspects of the Accreditation survey – incredibly validating for the team and the work they do every day.”
Tricia Smith, CD, RN, MN, Executive Director, Radius Community Health and Healing
Growth for the Team
One of the most valuable outcomes of the accreditation process was the impact on our team. The journey toward accreditation created space for;
- Staff learning and professional development
- Cross-team collaboration
- Reflection on practices and processes
- Strengthening internal communication
This work helped build a more connected and confident team, equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to provide effective, ethical, and responsive care.
“We were so proud to be accredited! It was such a team effort and a reflection of many years of hard work”
Seanna Chesney-Chauvet, RN, MN, Director of Clinical Operations, Radius Community Health and Healing
Stronger Services for the Community
Accreditation is not only about internal systems. It directly benefits the people we serve.
By meeting recognized national standards, Radius is better positioned to:
- Deliver consistent, high-quality programs
- Strengthen accountability and transparency
- Maintain sustainable services over the long term
- Build trust with clients, partners, and the broader community
This helps ensure that people seeking community-based healthcare in downtown Edmonton can access reliable, respectful, and well-structured services.
Looking Ahead
While accreditation is an important milestone, it is not the finish line. It is part of our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and responsive, community-based care.
Radius will continue to build and refine the systems, practices, and programs that support our clients’ health and wellbeing. Accreditation provides a strong foundation as we work to strengthen community health in Edmonton and respond to evolving needs.
